Jo Paulette Moore, 72, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion that will be cherished by her family and friends. She was born on February 1, 1953, in Lebanon, Pennsylvania to the late Leon Richard and Ruth Evelyn Dunstan Yingst.
Beyond high school, Jo attended Pinecrest Bible College in New York. Mama Jo, as she was affectionately known, went on to live a life marked by dedication and service. As a skilled printer, she operated a printing press for over 35 years, contributing her talent and hard work to the industry. Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her unwavering love for her family. She found immense joy in the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her pride in them was evident to all who knew her. Jo's faith in Jesus was a cornerstone of her life, providing her with strength, solace, and guidance throughout her journey.
Jo was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Thomas Moore, on October 25, 2003. Together, they created a nurturing home filled with love and laughter. She is also survived by her son, Garry (Stephanie) Finn; daughter, Kelsey (Joel) Hollis; grandchildren, Xylon (Balon) Hollis, Zakary (Andrea) Hollis, Kalyssa (Anthony) Johnson, Maleka (Ace) Turner, Israel Finn, and Eleanor Finn; great grandchildren, Huxten Hollis, Harbor Hollis, and soon-to-be-born Hazel Hollis; sisters, Natalie (Mike) Rudolph, Patty (Bill) Boardman, Zettie (Doug) Brown, and Ruthie (Clay) Pople; and brothers, Leon and Harry (Michelle) Yingst. Each of these individuals was blessed to have Jo in their lives, and her absence will be profoundly felt.
A Celebration of Life will be Monday, February 17, 2025, at 1 pm at Heath Funeral Home with Rev. Derrick Followell officiating. A visitation will be from 11 am until service time. Burial will follow at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Xylon Hollis, Zakary Hollis, Anthony Johnson, Ace Turner, Israel Finn, and Scott Smith.
In this time of mourning, we reflect on Jo Paulette Moore's remarkable life-a life filled with love for family, commitment to her work, and faith that inspired those around her. May her spirit continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who were privileged to know her.
