Joe Hathcoat Obituary

Joe Harold Hathcoat, 81, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born May 23, 1943, in Jonesboro to the late Willie B. and Jewell Hathcoat. Joe was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for many years as an antique dealer before retiring as a driver for Jets. He was known for his quiet strength and steady presence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Katherine Kersey and Jean Coots, and a brother, James Hathcoat. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Delcie DePriest Hathcoat of the home; two daughters, Vickie Jo Laham of Wichita, Kansas, and Donna Joe Hathcoat of Stonewall, Louisiana; two stepsons, Donnie Rieathbaum and Derek Rieathbaum, both of Cabot; eight grandsons: James Laham, Adam Laham, Grant Laham, Will Cox, Greg Cathey, Justin Rieathbaum, Jared Rieathbaum, and Tyler Rieathbaum; and seven great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Hill Cemetery with Bro. Rick Hathcoat officiating. Pallbearers will be Justin Rieathbaum, Tyler Rieathbaum, Jared Rieathbaum, Greg Cathey, Byron Edwards, Shane Parnell, D.J. King, and Edward "Yogi" Parnell. Emerson Funeral Home
