John Heims Obituary

John Jay Heims, Jr. 78, of Jonesboro, Arkansas passed away on April 23, 2025 at his home. He was born on December 8, 1946 in Gary, Indiana to John Jay Heims, Sr. and Gertrude (Hinchley) Heims. John was a Honorably Discharged United States Army Veteran, he fought in the Vietnam war. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. Survivors include; two sons: John Jay Heims III (Lea-Ann) of Walkerton, Indiana and Jeffrey Heims (Autumn) of Trumann, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Chance Heims (Ashley), Kody Heims, Jack Foster, Schyler Utpatel; two great grandchildren: Paisley Heims and Lane Heims; one brother: Gary Heims (Brenda) of Indiana; three sisters: Melody Thompson (Don) of Indiana, Tammy Wright (Jimmy) of Indiana, April Moehl of Indiana; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by; his parents: John Jay Heims, Sr. and Gertrude (Hinchley) Heims. Wife: Sandra "Honey" Heims; and one daughter: Amber Autumn Utpatel. Memorial services will be held on May 9, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye, Arkansas.
