Joseph Kent Poore

Joseph Kent Poore, 68, of Corpus Christi passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He was born on December 18, 1956, at Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, Texas to Bemiss and Doris Poore. Joe graduated from Maynard High School in 1975 and later from Arkansas State University. He served in the United States Air Force as an Airborne Communication Systems Technician During his career he had the privilege to utilize these skills with Air Force One. He received numerous medals including The Air Medal. This is a U.S. military decoration awarded for single acts of heroism or for meritorious achievement while participating in aerial flight. Decorations, medals, badges, citations and campaign ribbons awarded or authorized are AF Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, AF Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Navy Meritorious Unit Award, AF Outstanding Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters, Combat Readiness Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon with one oak leaf cluster, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with two oak leaf clusters, NCO Professional Military Education Graduate Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon. He retired as a Civil Service Professional from the US Department of Defense in Corpus Christi, Texas. Joe enjoyed new adventures and traveling the world. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Poore, and his grandparents. He is survived by his children, Nicole Poore, Steven Poore, and Alexander Poore of Montana; father, Bemiss Poore of Maynard; siblings, Debbie Crowley of Biggers, Jerri (Roger) Simpson of Guys, TN, and Thad Poore of Maynard. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Graveside service with Formal Military Honors, will be held at 10am, Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Maynard Cemetery.
