Lazelle Hansen Obituary
Psalms 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints."
Lazelle Hall Hansen, 106, was ushered into the arms of Jesus on August 29, 2025, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House, as she traded her earthly tent for her palatial heavenly home. What a glorious reunion with all her loved ones who were waiting to welcome her home!
Lazelle was born on May 28, 1919, in Stuttgart, Arkansas to Harry and Bessie Hall. She was the middle of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her parents and all 10 of her siblings: Meredith (Swaps) Hall, Willard (Dick) Hall, Margaret (Mert) Benham, Ruth Brown, Stella Neely, Harold (John) Hall, Jim Hall, Alieen Lewis, Melvin Hall, Harry (Liz) Hall, Jr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George; two of their six children, Roger Hansen and Mollie Rogers; son-in-law J.T. Rogers; two grandchildren, Penny Nichols Stotts and Todd Hansen; and great grandchild, Kayli Hansen. She is survived by her other children: Glenda Nichols (Landa), Randy Hansen (Jeanne), Janis Trammell (Jimmy), and Kim Morgan (Rocky) and daughter-in-love, Jane Hansen. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Betty Hall and a host of bonus grands, great grands, as well as many Hall and Hansen nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Christian Valley Christian Church where she served faithfully through the years. Her love and service to the Lord and others defined her life. She modeled a life of prayer and dependence on God. She was an ardent student of God's Word and taught a Sunday school class of senior ladies for many years. She joyfully baked cookies for VBS and CYF, cleaned thoroughly on church work days, and diligently prepared communion for Sunday services for years.
Lazelle was a lifelong learner after graduating as Salutatorian in the Weiner High School Class of 1937. She remained eager to gain knowledge and understanding and stayed abreast of changing times and current events. She was privileged to experience the invention of many modern conveniences in her 106 years but the most impactful, according to her, was the automatic washing machine. She was happy to exchange her hours-long wash days on the wringer washer for the push of a few buttons.
It is impossible to condense 106 years into a few paragraphs. At the end of the day-or at the end of this life-all that really matters is what you did with Jesus! Lazelle loved and accepted the Lord as her Savior and the Master of her life. She reflected His character in her interactions with others showing love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Because of her decision for Christ, we rejoice and are comforted by the assurance that she is "absent from the body but present with the Lord".
There will be a celebration of a life well-lived on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Christian Valley Christian Church, 2016 Valley View Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72404. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with the service at 2:00 pm officiated by Brother Mitch Ford. Burial will follow at McDaniel Cemetery. Gregg-Langford-Bookout Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

The family wishes to express appreciation to St. Bernard's Villa, her place of residence, for their love and care over the past 4+ years. The staff and residents loved her well and became her family, too., Also, thanks to the staff of Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House for providing tender love and care in a beautiful place of rest and solitude for her final weeks. She was called "Aunt Larry" by the nurses there, making her feel like they were family, also.
Lasting memorials may be made to Christian Valley Christian Church or Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House, 1148 East Matthews, Jonesboro, AR. 72401.
