Michael Wayne “Uncle Mike” Myers, 70, of Jonesboro, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born September 20, 1955, in Memphis, Tennessee, to the late James and Edith Myers.
Mike was of the Baptist faith. He retired from Channel 3 News in Memphis after several years of service. After moving to Jonesboro, he worked for and later retired from the City of Jonesboro Street Department. Known affectionately as “Uncle Mike” by everyone who knew him, he was truly everyone’s uncle. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Norfork, which he considered his second home, and loved camping and motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James “Chuck” Myers, and two sisters, Judy K. Myers and Kerri Myers Lawrence.
Survivors include his sister, Wendy (Eric) Grandlienard of Vero Beach, Florida; and seven nieces and nephews: Wendy (Ancel) Jines and Kerry (James) Reeves, both of Jonesboro; April (Ed) Frederick of Caledonia, Michigan; Jason (Jennifer) Myers of Jonesboro; and Cody Lawrence, Rebecca (Dan) Evans, and Maggie Lawrence, all of Charlotte, South Carolina.
A private memorial service will be announced at a later date.
