Patricia Jones McFerrin

Patricia Jones McFerrin, of Jonesboro, died October 31, 2025 , at the Flo and Phil Hospice House. She requested no funeral service. A private burial was held on November 3, 2025 at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Pat was born on March 20,1942, in St. Louis, MO, to Mitchell and Edith Jones. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Eugene "Oop" McFerrin, her two sons, Randy McFerrin and Rick McFerrin, and her brother, Jim Jones. Pat is survived by her three grandchildren, her great grandson, and the wonderful family of Jeff and Shannon Puryear. The Puryear's so lovingly made Pat and Oop a part of their lives and took care of them in so many ways, for which they will be eternally grateful. The Puryear's were like a son and daughter and grandchildren to Pat and Oop.

Pat was a graduate of Paragould High School and Arkansas State University. She attended Jonesboro Public Schools until her freshman year. She taught in Marked Tree and Keiser until she retired from teaching after 18 years. She then went to work for Farm Credit Services for another ten years, retiring from there.

Pat became a Christian at the age of 11. She served for over 30 years as a church pianist for Missionary Baptist Churches in Jonesboro and Paragould and finally at First Baptist Church in Marked Tree. She was a charter member of Ridgecrest Missionary Baptist Church and also a member at Walnut Street Baptist Church, Both in Jonesboro.
