HEBER SPRINGS - Jewell Bernice Gibson, 93, of Heber Springs passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at Southridge Village in Heber Springs.
She was born March 8, 1928, in Cash to Cecil and Trula Parr Matthews. She retired as a social worker with the Arkansas Department of Human Services and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville.
Bernice was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 61 years, Cecil Gibson, a sister, Helen Hankins, and a brother, Ray Matthews.
Those left behind to cherish the wonderful memories of Bernice include her son, Mike (Marsha) Gibson; two daughters, Deborah (Teddy Nix) Biggerstaff and Margaret (Steve) Lamb; six grandchildren, Matt Biggerstaff, Tori Thompson, Mendy Felton, Zach Lamb, Wesley Lamb and Nathan Lamb; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Faye Montgomery.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Gibson Cemetery in Jonesboro with Dane Womack officiating.
