CABOT - Bonnie Nell Powers, 81, of Cabot, passed away May 24, 2024. Born April 13, 1943, in Manila to the late Louis and Edna Milley Barcom.
Bonnie attended Manila Public Schools where she played basketball and was a cheerleader. She married the love of her life, Benny Powers, on Feb. 27, 1960, and celebrated 56 years together before his death in 2016.
After Benny was transferred to Searcy with Arkansas Missouri Power Company, they were blessed with two sons. Bonnie retired from First Baptist Church as the church secretary where she attended and was a member.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Steve and wife Kandy Powers of Ferrandina Beach Fla., Todd and wife Brenda Powers of Cabot; grandchildren, Cory Powers of Oklahoma, Madison Kell and husband Camron of Texas, Andrew Powers of Florida; great-grandchild, Brynlee Kell; siblings, Gary Barcom and wife Linda of Arizona, Roxie Rainey of Missouri, Carol Galbreth and husband Jimmy of Arizona; and her best friends, Zettie and Bob Holland; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other family.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, grandson Shane Powers and brother Charles Barcom.
Visitation will be today, May 31, at 9 a.m. at Powell Funeral Home in Searcy with funeral services following at 10 a.m. with Brother Brian Whitney officiating.
Burial will follow in White County Memorial Gardens.
