BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Carole Jane Scholze Miles, 80, passed away Sunday, Dec. 19, 2021, at Greenview Regional Hospital in Bowling Green, Ky.
The Jonesboro native was born May 21, 1941, to the late Ernest Scholze and Mary Rennicke Scholze.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Bill" "Guy" Joseph Miles, and a brother, Herman Scholze.
Carole grew up in Jonesboro where she attended Arkansas State University, earning her degree in journalism at the top of her class.
She became a reporter with the Pine Bluff Commercial where she met her loving husband of 55 years. The couple spent years living in Memphis where they started their family.
They later moved to Kingston Springs, Tenn., where she became a cafeteria manager and raised her children.
Carole was a kind person, who loved her fellow man. She was an active member of many Lutheran churches throughout her life and remained a loyal member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Waldenburg.
For years, she and Bill volunteered with Room in the Inn and the West Nashville Family Shelter. She also was involved in the building of a Habitat for Humanity house in Nashville.
In Waldenburg, she was a Lutheran Braille worker.
She loved reading, "Jeopardy!," travel, shopping, attending concerts and plays, bird watching and being at Greers Ferry Lake in Arkansas.
She was happiest just being with family and friends and they loved being with her.
