Clara Craig Obituary
TRUMANN - Clara Kathlene Craig of Trumann passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at Lakeside Nursing Center in Lake City at the age of 91. She was born May 2, 1931, in Trumann and lived most of her life in the Trumann area.
She was retired from General Electric in Jonesboro and was a member of Nettleton Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Hue "Pete" Craig, one sister, Doris Friend, four brothers, Roy, Vernon, Kenneth "Shorty" and Reuben Parnell; and two infant siblings, Garland and Eva; and was the daughter of the late William Lee and Cora May Randolph Parnell.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Kay (Gary) Fortune of Mooresville, N.C.; two sons, Donnie Hugh (Pamela) Craig of Brighton, Tenn., and Rickey Lynn Craig of Bartlett, Tenn.; two brothers, Calvin Parnell of Paragould and Jim Parnell of Madisonville, Ky.; three sisters, Dean Gentzler of Mascoutah, Ill., Neva Swann of Hot Springs and Wanda Gibson of Bono; six grandchildren, Jeremy Craig, Joey Craig, Kyle Craig, Tracy Craig, Chris Fortune and Jon Fortune; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 p.m. Monday at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A celebration of her life will follow at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Brady Canwright officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jeremy Craig, Joey Craig, Kyle Craig, Christopher Fortune and Jon Fortune, and great-grandson, Zachary Craig.
In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, masks or other facial coverings will be optional and social distancing will be observed.
