JONESBORO - Dr. Dan Franklin Morse, PhD, 89, of Jonesboro, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2024, at his home. He was born on March 10, 1935, in Wheeling, W.Va., to Dr. George Daniel Morse, M.D. and Ann Franklin Morse.
Dan was a United States Army veteran and taught at Arkansas State University for 32 years as a professor of archaeology. He also worked for the Arkansas Archaeological Survey.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Phyllis Morse of the home; sons, Daniel (Benita) Morse of Jonesboro, John Morse of Oxford, Miss., and Robert Morse of Sherwood; grandsons, Luke, Benjamin and Kyle Morse; and sister, Patricia Arceneaux.
