JONESBORO - David Boston Vance II, 53, of Jonesboro, departed this life on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born on July 15, 1971, at St. Bernards Hospital.
David was the Vice President of Jonesboro Roofing Company and a member of First Methodist Church in Jonesboro. An avid outdoorsman, he found great joy in hunting deer, duck, and geese. He had a deep love for his family, especially his two children, and was known for his passion for cooking and grilling. He took great pride in caring for those around him, his friends, his family, and, above all, his beloved wife.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda Brooks; his brother, Derek Vance; his paternal grandparents, Howard and Wanda Vance; and his maternal grandparents, Tiny and Gene Davis.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 29 years, Erika Vance of the home; his father, David Vance (Alice) of Jonesboro; his son, Austin Vance of Bono; his daughter, Averie Vance of Memphis, his sister, Shelley Teat (Ron) of Jonesboro; his nephew and nieces, Jacob Watson (Molly), Maddie Teat, and Emmie Teat, all of Jonesboro; a host of cousins; and a lifetime of dear friends.
Visitation will be held today at Emerson Memorial Chapel from 1 to 3 p.m. A private graveside service will follow. Active pallbearers will include Ron Teat, Jacob Watson, Jimmy Bailey, Scott Moore, Bryan Johnston, Brandon Moore, Sean Gould, and Sam Johnston. Honorary pallbearers will be all employees at Jonesboro Roofing Company.
David's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to First Methodist Church Jonesboro or a charity of your choice.
