JONESBORO - Devin William Dicus, 35, of Jonesboro tragically passed from this life Monday, Aug. 29, 2022. He was born June 8, 1987, to Gary and Dana Dicus in Indianapolis. Devin graduated from Danville Community High School in Danville, Ind., and graduated from Ivy Tech Community College with a degree in the culinary arts.
Devin had a love of music and enjoyed playing music with his wife. Devin also had a love of food and creating new dishes and sharing food with family and friends.
Devin had a love of teaching, he would share his culinary knowledge with anyone and he also taught his wife and daughter how to play the drums. Devin also loved dad jokes and writing jokes to perform at open-mic comedy nights. He earned a lot of laughs.
However, Devin's greatest love was his family and spending as much time as possible with his wife, Kat, and daughter, Emma. Devin was a wonderful father, husband, son and friend, and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Glen Dale Dicus, aunt, Michelle Gunn, and uncle, Jared Van Jamison.
Devin is survived by his wife, Kathleen Dicus of Jonesboro; 9-year-old daughter, Emma Josephine Dicus of Jonesboro; parents, Gary and Dana Dicus of Danville; brother, Elliot Dicus (Jill) of San Fransico; grandmother, Alta Joan Dicus; in-laws, Ricky and Juliet Averion; sister-in-law, Kaitlyn Averion; and brother-in-law, Jake Averion.
Devin leaves behind a host of other family and friends to mourn his loss.
On Saturday, Emerson Funeral Home, 1629 E. Nettleton Ave., Jonesboro 72401, will be hosting the visitation starting at 1 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. After the funeral service please head to Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Parish Center, 1107 E. Highland Drive, Jonesboro 72401, for food and refreshments.

I remember when you pick me up going into the friendship Circle at graduation, you made me feel so special because I was the only one that was picked up like that. You were such a nice and giving man, you´ll never be forgotten. My condolences go out to Dana, Gary, Elliot, Kat and Emma. You´re all in my prayers.
