JONESBORO - Dorothy Jean Stepp Spooner, 84, of Jonesboro, formerly of Junction City, La., passed from this life Monday, May 30, 2022, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House surrounded by her family.
She was born in Junction City, Ark., on April 8, 1938, to the late O.C. Alonzo and Virginia Wilson. Dorothy resided in Jonesboro after coming from Junction City, La.
She was a longtime member of the Junction City First United Methodist Church.
Dorothy enjoyed gardening, spending time outdoors and cooking, especially fried chicken. She had a ceramic shop for many years while in Jonesboro. Most of all, Dorothy loved her family.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband, Ed Stepp, second husband, Charles Spooner, six brothers, one sister and one son.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters, Melanie (Bart) Morrison of Jonesboro and LaWanda (Rob) Wiles of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one son, Eddie (Susie) Stepp of Junction City, La.; three brothers, Woody (Helen) Wilson of Junction City, La., Bill (Joann) Wilson of Spearville, La., and Richard (Beth) Wilson of Little Rock; three sisters, Bobbie Ann Orr of El Dorado, Julia (Freddie) Meador of Junction City, La., and Judy Carter-Franklin of Hackett; grandchildren, Joshua (Marie) Morrison, Megan (Shannon) Bailey, Seth (Jennifer) Wiles, Jordan Wiles, Tiffany (Blake) Loueallen, Bennett Stepp and Colby Stepp; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. today, June 3, at Emerson Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
