JONESBORO - Evelyn "Lyn" Paris Moseley Hubbard died peacefully Tuesday, July 26, 2022, after a hard-fought battle with bladder cancer. Lyn was born Oct 1, 1948, in New Orleans and raised in Selma, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her first mother, Christine Paris Moseley, and her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Sam Moseley Jr., a daughter, Blair Hubbard of Jonesboro, her sister, Janet L Moseley, and grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. Sam Moseley Sr., all of Selma, and Mr. and Mrs. Earl P. Paris of New Orleans.
After attending Mississippi State College for Women and Auburn University, she discovered her career passion, radiologic technology. She graduated from Emory University Hospital Radiography Program in 1973.
While there she completed mammography training under the man considered to be the "father of mammography," Dr. Robert L Egan. Following graduation, she began her career with The American Cancer Society (ACS) and National Institute of Health (NIH) in one of the breast cancer early detection screening projects that had been set up nationwide to determine if screening mammograms on younger, asymptotic women would be beneficial.
Screening mammography is now the gold standard for early breast cancer detection.
Lyn retired as associate professor emeritus and clinical coordinator in the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences at Arkansas State University. She also holds bachelor's and master's degrees in education.
Survivors include her husband, Ted, of the home; a daughter Meg Hubbard Williamson (Andrew) of Cullman, Ala.; and a son, Matt Hubbard (Lillie) of Rogers. She also leaves her precious grandchildren, Finn and Ian Williamson of Cullman and Hudson and Haley Hubbard of Rogers.
Additionally, she is survived by sisters, Jean Moseley Massey (Joe) and Margaret Moseley Hudson (Bobby), a brother, Bob Moseley (Ann), and sister-in-law, Lois Hubbard Lucas (Glenn), all of Alabama, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday in Montevallo Cemetery in Montevallo, Ala.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Jonesboro with the Rev. Rodney Reeves officiating at a later date.
For lasting memorials, the family asks you to please consider donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of your choice.

I'm so sorry to learn of Lyn's passing. My Mother Sara and Lyn's 1st Mother Chris were sisters. Lyn was one of the first cousins I remember from my childhood. May she rest in eternal peace and may God comfort all of her loved ones and friends who will miss her presence in their lives.

We had so many laughs thru out the years. I remember when your family came out to our home on the 4th of July and your kids caught fish out of the pond. We also had a great meal, visiting and laughing. So many times we took lunch together to go to Western Sizzlin' and sure went down on the chicken livers, ha. You will be missed by so many but so glad you are at rest now, without pain. May God lift up all your friends and family that will be hurting in your absence.
