JONESBORO - Gary Robert Toombs, 74, passed away Thursday, Feb. 3, 2022, at St. Elizabeth's Place.
Gary was born Dec. 30, 1947, in Paragould to E.L. and Christine Olean Kittle Toombs. He was a graduate of Arkansas State University with a degree in agriculture.
He was the owner of Atlas Seed and Chemical in Paragould. He served in the Peace Corps in Guatemala and Dominica, where he worked to help rural villages develop crops to improve their local economy.
Gary enjoyed music, working on old cars and old tractors, and flying his Ultralight plane. He enjoyed fishing. He always said "the best part of fishing was the beer drinking."
He was happiest when scouting cotton for his customers and watching his work take seed and grow.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, James Lee, Mack and Earl Wayne, and sisters, Earline, Mary and Faye.
He is survived by his son, Steve Toombs (Tina) of Nashville, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Britney and Tiffany Toombs, both of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no services.

So sorry for your loss. I went to school at GCT with Gary. We were on the tumbling team. I haven´t seen him in years but I remember him as a fun living guy. So sorry.
