CASH - Gerald Ray Goza, 61, passed away on Oct. 13, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born to Millard and Erma Faye Melton Goza on July 31, 1964, Gerald lived a life marked by service, faith, and devotion to those he held dear.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Gerald continued his commitment to community as a firefighter and first responder for the city of Cash. He served as pastor of Full Gospel Lighthouse in Cash for 12 years, ministering with compassion and conviction. His adventurous spirit led him to the racetrack as a former racecar driver, and his hands were rarely idle; he found joy in woodworking, hunting, and fishing.
Above all, Gerald cherished his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found his greatest happiness in time spent with his grandchildren.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal and paternal grandparents, and one grandson, Lane Cole.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Patti Goza; four daughters, Bethany Goza (Patrick) of Cash, Lalicia Cole (Cody) of Cash, Savannah McDole (Kyle) of Jonesboro, and Hannah Keasler (Shane) of Quitman; one son, Cody Simmons of Walnut Ridge; two brothers, Roger Goza of Tuckerman and James Goza (Nellie) of Swifton; one sister, Latricia McGinnis of Bono; 17 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m., at Gregg Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Marshall officiating. Visitation will be on Thursday, Oct. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow in Cash Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Montana Neely, Dakota Neely, Dalton Neely, Kamden McDole, Leland Slagley, and Curtis Neely. Gerald will be greatly missed. Memories of playing at the farm and everyone gathering at the table mainly on Sundays. When we got older I had drivers license and I would pick Gerald up at night and we'd go riding out of town.To his family I love you even though we don't see each other were still cousins.
