Glenda Tompkins Obituary

LAKE CITY - Glenda Sue Tompkins, 75, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, June 27, 2024. She was born March 31, 1949, in Piggott, to the late Glen and Madeline Lack Bell.

Glenda owned a cleaning business for 20 years and was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching Cardinal baseball and NASCAR, yard work, birdwatching and going shopping. Glenda was of the Baptist faith.

Glenda is survived by her husband of 32 years, James Tompkins; daughter, Kellie (Keith) Carter of Jonesboro; son, Kyle (Megan) Morris of Jonesboro; a stepson, Travis (Carrie) Tompkins of Springdale; a stepdaughter, Melanie (Charles) Gosa of Lake City; a brother, Alan (Pattie) of Mountain Home; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Glenda was also preceded in death by a son, Brian Chad Morris, and a brother, Bob Bell.

A celebration of her life will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Gregg Funeral Home Chapel in Monette with her son-in-law, Keith Carter officiating. Interment will be in Caraway Cemetery. Visitation will be at 2 p.m. until time of the service.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Travis Tompkins, Tristan Tompkins, Trevor Tompkins, Jackson Morris, Riley Carter, Charles Gosa and Josh Morris.
