JONESBORO - Mrs. Janie Elwanda Baltzell, 83, of Jonesboro passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021.
She was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Walnut Ridge to John and Mary Warner Stone.
Before retirement, she worked for Crane, Holiday Inn and owned her own flea market.
Mrs. Janie loved crafts, karaoke (was the queen), volunteering in her retirement and receiving many awards, bingo and spending time with her family.
She was a soldier for the Salvation Army.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David Baltzell, daughters, Mary Louise Newsom and Beverly Jo Goad (Dickie), and siblings, Henry Stone (Thelma), Johnny Stone (Darlene), Harold Stone (Hazel), Frank Stone (Eunice) and Joseph Stone (Wanda).
Left to cherish her memories are her son, Connie "Redd" Newsom; daughters, Pattie Diane (Billy) May and Lisa Renea (Darrell) Dixon; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday in Oak Ridge Cemetery with Stephanie Hargis officiating.
Her nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will precede services from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home, 1900 W. Washington Ave., Jonesboro, 72401.
