JONESBORO - Joyce Marie Burrow, 90, passed from this life on Thursday, July 3, 2025. She was born Aug. 19, 1934, in Moro, to the late Otis and Elna Brewer McCluskey.
Joyce has resided in Jonesboro for the last 49 years after coming from Osceola. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church where she also volunteered in many programs.
Joyce graduated from Brinkley High School in 1953 and started employment at Southwest Bell/ AT&T. She was a telephone operator for almost 35 years. After retirement she was employed at a pharmacy, jewelry store, dress shop and flower shop. She was a caregiver for several friends. She loved helping others and never met a stranger. When she met someone, she immediately got to know them.
Joyce and her husband Paul also supported ASU and attended many events.
In addition to her parents, Joyce is preceded in death by her husband Paul Burrow; her son, Randall Burrow; her brother, James (Sonny) McCluskey; her sister, Estra Fitts; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Ben Burrow Jr., Hoyle Burrow, Forestine Taggert, Bob Burrow, Tommy Burrow, and Bette Colbert.
Joyce is survived by her brother, Jim (Carole) McCluskey; her sisters-in-law, Sheila McCluskey and Pat Hargrove; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 9, at Emerson Funeral Home starting at 1 p.m. and will conclude at the start of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Ross Burton officiating. Burial will be private.
