JONESBORO - Justin E. Whitson, 49, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center. He was born Jan. 10, 1976, in Aurora, Ill., to Marty Whitson and the late Debbie Medel.
Justin grew up in Stockton, Calif., before moving to Arkansas. He was a believer in Christ. Justin has worked for Walmart since 1996, serving at various store locations throughout the years. He was an avid Chicago Bulls and Oakland Athletics fan.
In addition to his father, Justin is survived by his stepmother, Peggy Whitson of Loudon, Tenn.; stepfather, Steve Medel of Stockton, Calif.; two sons, Tyler Whitson and Jacob Whitson, both of Jonesboro; a daughter, Porter Whitson of Jonesboro; a brother, Daniel Medel of Stockton, Calif.; two sisters, Ashlee (Matt) Droivold of Stockton, Calif., and Cicely (Brian) Jones of Ill.; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
The family has chosen not to hold any services.
