HIGHLAND - Marian Frances Vance, 96, of Highland, Ark., died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025, while visiting family in Jonesboro.
She was born in Senath, Mo., on Oct. 15, 1929, to Charles and Ella Wofford. She had lived in Highland since 1996, moving there from Southern California. She was a member of the Hardy Methodist Church. Marian was a member of the Retired Teacher's Association.
She taught 4-grade math and took a genuine interest in her students. Having a creative side to her talents, she could make many beautiful decorations. Her giving and nurturing disposition made her loved by everybody. Even though she didn't like to cook much, when she did, it was excellent. She loved her family very much and would always listen to their problems and concerns.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
Survivors include her son, Robert Vance of Highland; sister, Clinnie Cannon of Seattle, Wash.; granddaughter, Athena Vance and great granddaughter, Rue Canamore. All services will be private under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home.
