IMBODEN - Milton Lee Spence, 72, of Imboden, former longtime Leachville resident, passed from this life Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Pocahontas Healthcare and Rehab Center. Born in Leachville, he was the son of the late W. B. and Mary Allen Reed Spence and had lived most of his life in the Leachville area. He attended Leachville High School and was a member of the Second Baptist Church. Lee was a heavy machine mechanic for Nucor Yamato Steel and retired after 30 years of service. Lee had an infectious smile that lit up any room. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, driving his race car, and riding his Harley Davidson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gail Buff, and Ruth Garrett; a niece, Mary Ann Robertson; and a nephew, Kenneth Garrett.
Survivors include a daughter, LeeAnne Hooker and a granddaughter, Abby Lee Hooker, both of Miss.; one brother, Bryan "Buddy" Spence (Pam) of Imboden; one sister, Joy White of Jonesboro; three nieces, Carolyn Smith, Joy Garrett, and Sherry Bunger; seven nephews, Wade Spence, Anthony Garrett, Richard Garrett, Kevin Garrett, Michael Garrett, Brad Hinson, and Wes Hinson.
Graveside funeral service will be 1 p.m Wednesday, April 9, in the Leachville Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11:30 a.m. until service time at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Leachville.
