RECTOR - Neda Jean Sain passed away peacefully on Dec. 14, 2024, in Paragould, at the age of 84. Born on June 3, 1940, in Greenway, Neda's life was characterized by her loving nature, her selfless spirit, and her unwavering dedication to her family and community.
Neda was preceded in death by her parents, James Henry and Dimple Maxine Parham Gregery; her beloved husband, Glen Sain; and her brothers, James Dallas Gregory and Roger Lynn Gregory, and sister, Nila Mae Holman. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her loving children, Gail Sain Ford (Danny), Freddie Sain, Jo Keaha Sain, and Gregg Sain (Ginger). Neda's legacy also lives on through her sister, Pam Foster (Mike); her brother, Byron Gregery (Joan); her numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and the many special nieces, nephews, and friends whose lives she touched.
A proud graduate of Rector High School, Neda spent many years working at the Glen Sain Dealership alongside her husband Glen Sain starting in 1961, where she was a respected and valued member of the team. She finally retired in 2018. Her work ethic and commitment to service were evident in everything she did, both professionally and personally.
Neda's interests were a reflection of her love for life and her love for those around her. She relished the opportunity to embark on road trips with her siblings, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Neda found peace and joy at the lake, where she spent countless hours enjoying the beauty of nature. She was also an avid gardener; taking pride in her yard and the tranquility it brought her.
Cooking was another of Neda's passions, especially when it came to preparing her family's favorite dish, duck and dressing. Her culinary skills were a staple at family gatherings, where she served her dishes with love and care. Neda's community spirit shone brightly at the annual Graves Gin fish fry, where she loved to contribute, and at the Labor Day picnic, where she was known for working tirelessly in the kitchen.
Perhaps one of Neda's most significant contributions was her integral role in starting the annual Thanksgiving Community meal, an event that exemplified her generous nature and her desire to give back to the community she held so dear.
Later in her life, Neda was a cherished member of the Rector First United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully until her health declined. Her unwavering faith and the support she provided to her church community were sources of inspiration to all who knew her.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Neda would describe her as loving, friendly, and selfless. She had an innate ability to make everyone around her feel valued and loved, and her presence was a comfort to those in need. Neda's unconditional love was the cornerstone of her existence, and it is this love that will be her lasting legacy.
As we say goodbye to Neda, we celebrate a life well lived, a life filled with love, kindness, and selfless service to others. Her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us, and her memory will be treasured in our hearts forever.
Neda's life was a testament to the beauty of giving, the strength of community, and the power of love. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her on this journey of life.
