DIXIE - Alvin Patrick Hafer, 72, of Dixie passed from this life Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center in Paragould. He was born Dec. 31, 1949, in Jonesboro to the late Forrest "Bo" Hafer and Ina Mae Hafer.
Patrick had lived in Dixie all of his life and was a member of Dixie Baptist Church. He was extremely active in the work of the church as well as in the Dixie community.
Patrick served our great country in the Army. Afterward he farmed for many years with his sons and later in life worked for the Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism where he worked in several of the parks across the state.
Patrick was a skilled carpenter and helped both of his sons build their homes, but one of his greatest joys was being able to see his grandkids daily.
In addition to his parents, Patrick was preceded in death by a brother, Forrest "Sonny" Hafer, and a sister, Phyllis Jean Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Mae Hafer, of the home; sons, James (Ashley) Hafer and Matthew (Vanessa) Hafer all of Dixie; twin sister, Trisha Marshall of Dixie; and grandchildren, Dylan, Talyn, Ethan, Abigail and Jude.
