Jonesboro - It is with deep love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Russell William Holmes, devout Christian, a devoted father, cherished husband, loving grandfather, amazing brother-in-law and steadfast friend. He is a member of Grace Missionary Baptist Church. Born in Oklahoma City, OK., Russell lived a life defined by kindness, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to his family.
He was a 1977 graduate of Truman High School where he loved playing football. He studied Business Management at St. Phillips, San Antonio, TX where he received his associate's degree in business management. He started his printing career, after graduation, at Kreger in Jonesboro, where he met his lifelong partner, Debra Holmes. Through his 43+ years in the printing industry, he worked his way up to Plant Manager. He managed several companies with his last being Modern Litho Kansas City. He made many livelong friends who he was still in contact with. He found his greatest joy in being a devoted husband to his wife Debra Holmes, father to David Holmes and Daniel (Letty) Holmes, guiding his children and granddaughters with patience, wisdom, and unconditional love. Whether cheering from the sidelines, offering quiet words of encouragement, or sharing life lessons, his presence was a constant source of strength and comfort.
Russell was a man of simple pleasures and deep values. He loved taking great care of his lawn, Hunting, playing with his dog Oreo, telling stories that made everyone laugh, and he approached each day with gratitude and purpose. His generosity extended beyond his family, touching the lives of friends, neighbors, and anyone fortunate enough to know him.
