JONESBORO - Steve W. Goodrich, 73, of Jonesboro passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2024, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. He was born Dec. 5, 1950, in Portageville, Mo., to the late Calvin and Lena Mae Goodrich.
Stevie was raised in Jonesboro and was a 1968 graduate of Jonesboro High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army. Stevie served over 20 years in the Army. He served two tours in Vietnam and after retiring, he re-enlisted and was an Army and a nurse recruiter in the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
Between his two enlistments in the Army, he was the proud owner and instructor at The Arkansas Academy of Hair Design beauty college. Stevie enjoyed yard work, grilling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and most recently, his great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, Stevie was preceded in death by his second wife, Myra Sue Dunahm Goodrich, first wife, Huoi T. Goodrich, brother, Levon Goodrich, and sister, Sue Mitchell.
Survivors include his son, Stephen M. Goodrich of Long Beach, Miss.; a brother, Dewayne (Verna) Goodrich of Jonesboro; three sisters, Betty Hancock of St. Louis, Sandi (Danny) Brewer and Kim Goodrich, both of Jonesboro, two grandsons, Joe Falgoust of New Orleans and Gavinn Goodrich of Long Beach; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Emerson Funeral Home.
