WILLIFORD - Wilsie Mae Clayton, 80, of Williford, passed from this life on Monday, Oct. 27, at her home. She was born June 9, 1945, in Winston County, Miss., to the late Harmon Lee and Florrie Green.
Wilsie has lived in Williford for over 30 years and was of the Baptist belief. She enjoyed going to yard sales and was a great cook, but as a homemaker, her greatest joy was taking care of and spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
In addition to her parents, Wilsie is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Clayton; brothers, James Green and Richard Green; sister, Polly Abbott; son-in-law, Walter Meurer; brother-in-law, Gene Clayton; and sister-in-law, Joyce Clayton.
Survivors include her daughters, Brenda (James) Kenley of Bay, Glenda (Larry) Foreman of Jonesboro, Linda (Steve) Trotter of Bay and Christine Meurer of Limestone; grandchildren, Darius Frazier, Cody (Megan) Clayton, Megan Cook, Tyler (Andreea) Kenley, LaCinda Davis and Dalton Trotter as well as great-grandchildren, Kori Seymore, Conar Davis, Carson Clayton, Madison Clayton, James Kenley, Ana Kenley and Hudson Cook.
Visitation will be held today from 5 to 7 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Danny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Rick Foreman, Cody Clayton, Jeremy Abbott, Darius Frazier, Dalton Trotter, and Tyler Kenley.
