arlean I. Swing
Harlean I. Swing, 85, of Monticello, passed away at 9:09 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Carle Hospital, Urbana.
Harlean was born on June 15, 1939, in Los Angeles, CA. the daughter of Alex and Edith (Ruben) Kaufman. Harlean first married Philip Glickman then later married Jack H. Swing in 1974 in Champaign, IL. Jack passed away on July 8, 2014.
Harlean is survived by her son, Michael (Stephanie) Glickman of New Jersey; daughter, Leslie (Andy) Sims of Monticello; grandchildren, Alex and Chandler Glickman and Matt Swing. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, brother Sidney Kaufman, and sister Beverly Freedman.
Harlean was an avid runner in her younger years and a pillar of the Monticello Community as the original owner of The Brown Bag. She held a special place in many of the current and former employees' hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu flowers memorials may be made to the Piatt County Animal Shelter. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mackey-wrightfuneralhome.com
