Wayne Eugene Parde, 79, of
Cook, NE, passed away on April 17, 2025 at his home. Wayne was born on July 6, 1945 in Tecumseh, NE to Heye and Tena Parde. He graduated from Cook High School in 1963 and married Marianne Poppe on October 6, 1963. Wayne was self-employed his whole life focusing on farming, construction, finish-carpentry and raising cattle.
Wayne is survived by his 4 children: Ross (Kara), Robin (Jimmy), Matt (Jennifer) and Josh (Rebecca). Wayne also has 10 grandchildren: Danielle Wolf (Jake), Ryan Parde, Jamie (Codie) Burrow, Dan (Jama) Burrow, Joe Burrow, Braxton, Addison, Jonah, Elijah and Levi Parde and 4 great-grandchildren: Charlie, IV, Bowen and Lucy Jane, sisters Darlene Isaacs and MaryAnn Hartsook and brother Don Parde (Linda).
Wayne is preceded in death by his wife Marianne, his parents, infant daughter (Meredith) and brothers-in-law John Isaacs and Fred Hartsook.
Wayne was always ready and willing to help with any project and was an avid supporter of his family and friends. He loved supporting his grandchildren in their extra curricular activities including sports, show choir, boys choir, dance, and archery. In his younger years, fast-pitch and slow-pitch softball were his hobbies and he enjoyed golf later in life. Wayne looked forward to breakfast with friends at the bowling alley in Tecumseh, afternoons with his dogs (Otis and Molly) and social hour later in the afternoon. Wayne will always be remembered for his passion for raising cattle as well as his love for LSU and Bengals football.
Memorial services were held at Grace Lutheran Church in Cook on Thursday, April 24 at 1:30 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Osage Cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to Cook Fire and Rescue in lieu of flowers.
Services entrusted to Wherry Mortuary, Tecumseh, Nebraska.
