Alfred J. Jezouit Sr.

Alfred J. Jezouit Sr. 84, of South Windsor, formerly of Manchester, beloved husband of Donna (Nichols) Jezouit, passed away on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Al was born on Aug. 6, 1929, in Springfield, Mass., son of the late Joseph F. and Mary (Skiba) Jezouit, and he had resided in Manchester for over 35 years before moving to South Windsor in 2001. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. Al was employed with the Kessler Installation Corp. in Hartford for over 39 years, retiring in 1991 as vice president of the company. He was a longtime communicant of St. Bridget Church in Manchester. In the 1950s into the '60s he was the catcher for the East Hartford Dovalettes softball team for over 10 years. Al was an avid fan and longtime season ticket holder of the Hartford Whalers.

Besides his wife, Donna, Al leaves his two daughters, Sandra Lea and her husband, Frank, of Manchester, Debra Jezouit and her husband, Michael Richlin, and their children Alexander and Taylor of Oakton, Va.; his son, Alfred J. Jezouit Jr. and his children, Jamie and Melanie Jezouit, all of Manchester; his sister, Evelyn Moses and her husband, Arthur, of Bristol; two sisters-in-law, Pamela Wentworth and her husband, Bruce, of South Windsor and Sharon Nichols of Maine; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Thomas.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at 10:15 a.m. at Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main St. Manchester, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Bridget Church, 80 Main St., Manchester. Burial with military honors will follow in East Cemetery, Manchester.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Dec. 10, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
