Anthony Farinella Obituary
He was born June 13, 1926, to the late Joseph and Josephine (Cicero) Farinella. He was a loving father and grandfather who cherished time spent with family. Tony was a proud Army veteran serving in the No France Rhineland Central Europe GO 33 during World War II as an Amphibian tractor driver in the 737th Tank Battalion, 5th Infantry Division, earning several medals and his certification in radio operating. He will be most remembered for his unique sense of humor and his love for his family.
In addition to his grandchildren, Tony is survived by his daughter, Cindy Farinella Carbone; and his son in-law, Joseph Carbone; and best buddy, his cat, Valik.
Burial with full military honors will be held on Saturday, Oct. 19, at 10:30 a.m. at the State Veteran Cemetery in Middletown. To leave an online condolence please visit

My mom, Leona was Tony's next door neighbor at Park Hill in Broad Brook, where Tony lived prior to Vernon. My mom was sad to hear that Tony passed away, but she also said, he's in a better place and resting peacefully. My niece, Heidi, would always find time to give him a haircut when he needed it. On behalf of my mom, Leona, my brothers, Leland and Brian, and of course myself, Gary....RIP Tony and we send our condolences to his family during this difficult time.
