Anthony George Snuck, 87, of South Windsor, beloved husband of the late Joan (Beattie) Snuck, died peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Marlborough Health & Rehab after a brief illness.
Anthony was born in Hartford, CT, on July 21, 1938, son of the late Solomon and Edna (Gammans) Snuck. He grew up in East Hartford and served in the National Guard from 1958-1962. He was honorably discharged as a Sergeant with Company A., 1st Battle Group-169th Infantry.
In 1959 he married the love of his life, Joan Beattie, and they made their home in East Hartford, before moving to South Windsor around 1981. Tony worked for Canteen Food & Vending in Middletown. He began as a route driver and worked his way up to supervisor. He retired after 39 years of service. In his retirement he became a bus driver in Glastonbury for 18 years.
He was an avid boater and outdoorsman. He was past commodore and a lifetime member of the Hartford Yacht Club and Pattaconk Yacht Club. He was also a lifetime member of the Andover Sportsman's Club and the NRA. Tony enjoyed trap shooting and was a gun safety instructor. He enjoyed trips to Block Island on his boat.
He leaves his brother, Robert "Bob" Snuck and his wife Julie of TN, his sister, Gloria Snuck of NY, two nieces, Kristen Snuck and her husband Carlos of PA, and Kimmie Snuck of NY, and his second cousin, Joe Klecman of East Hartford.
A graveside prayer service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, 11 a.m., at Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery in the Mausoleum. There are no calling hours. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Hom has care of the arrangements. For online condolences please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com
