Beatrice Mullen Obituary

Beatrice B. (Blake) Mullen, 84, most recently of Luther Ridge, Middletown, wife of the late Francis K. Mullen, died on Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Middlesex Hospital.

Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Bridget (Gleeson) Blake. She lived much of her life in Enfield and Madison. Betty spent her childhood at Hammonassett and continued to take her family there throughout her life. Betty was a graduate of Bay Path Junior College and employed at Combustion Engineering for many years. She was a member of the Enfield Women's Club and the Madison Grange.

Betty is survived by two sons, Jim F. Mullen and his wife, Margaret, of Cromwell, and Michael E. Mullen of Old Lyme; two daughters, Kathleen Morrell of Belgium, and Melissa Mullen Taylor and her husband, Rick, of Greer, S.C. and Clinton; two brothers, Edward Blake of Northfield, Vt., and Michael Blake and his wife, Pat, of Clinton; one sister, Ann Majnich and her husband, Jerry, of Roanoke, Va.; eight grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main St., Cromwell, on Thursday, March 29 at 5 p.m.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service from 4 to 5 p.m. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Clinton, at the convenience of the family.
