Bruce A. Roy, 55, of Vernon, formerly of Hartford, loving son, brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend passed away unexpectedly, while on his way to work, on Wednesday, November 29, 2023. Bruce was born on May 29, 1968, in Fort Kent, Maine, one of three beloved children of Lourene (Thibodeau) Roy of Vernon and the late Maurice Roy Sr.
Bruce was raised in Hartford before the family moved to Vernon in 1982. He was a graduate of Rockville High School, Class of 1986. Bruce was formerly employed as a computer operator/ I.T. specialist for the State of Connecticut, working in the Labor Department. More recently, Bruce worked at The Ivy, Assisted Living Center in Ellington where he was adored by the residents and made many wonderful friendships.
In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed playing cards, bowling, going to the beach and watching movies with his family. He was an avid dancer and would often be the main attraction at family parties, social gatherings, and at many of the local establishments. Bruce was a former member of the T.K.B. Club in Rockville.
In addition to his mother, Lourene, he is survived by his two siblings and their spouses, Maurice and Lisa Roy of Ellington and Tammy and Robert Aquilino of Colchester, his greatly loved three nieces, and nephew: Ashley Field and her spouse, Eric Field and their daughter, Olyvia of Lisbon, Amanda Webster and her spouse Russell Webster Jr. and their children, Ryan and Austin of Lebanon, Justin Roy and his fiancée, Breona Wogan and her children, Judah and Emmie of Middletown and Jennifer Roy and her fiancé, Aedin Wadja of Columbia.
