Dave Owen Bahler, 64, of Ellington, beloved husband of 27 years to Peggy (Skipper) Bahler, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021, at St. Francis Hospital.
Born in Rockville, the son of the late Owen and Lois Ann (Feldman) Bahler, he was a lifelong resident of Ellington. He was a graduate of Ellington High School, Class of 1975. He has farmed in Ellington for over 50 years. He was a longtime member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Ellington. Dave enjoyed gardening, reading, playing Scrabble and Monopoly, and mowing around the farm on his John Deere tractor. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend who enjoyed being with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, John Bahler and his wife, Sandy of Vernon, and Andrew Bahler of Ellington; his brother, Glenn Bahler and his wife, Erika of Ellington; his two sisters, Lynn Knight and her husband, Douglas of West Hartford, and Debra Bahler-DuPerry and her husband, John of Tolland; his stepmother, Donna (Webb) Bahler of Ellington; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His family will receive friends for calling hours on Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2021, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church, 34 Middle Butcher Road, Ellington.
Funeral services will be held at the Church on Wednesday, Oct. 13, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Ellington Center Cemetery.
