Hi Badstuebners, growing up next to you guys brought me such great happiness. So many great memories that included your dad--going to the Whalers games in Springfield after the civic center roof collapsed; going to Nova Scotia with Al and your dad and stopping at Bar Harbor to see Thunder Hole; cutting up one of your dad's old umpire chest protectors so that Al and I could use it as the goalie pads in street hockey; going to a Red Sox game and going to the bathroom in the bottom of the ninth and missing the winning home run, trying to find Al and your dad in the crowd afterward. And the funny little things--like you guys always had the best morning cereal. And watching "Duel" on TV with Dennis Weaver being chased by a truck, and screaming awake in the middle of the night at your house because I swore he was looking in through the window (Al, right next to me, didn't wake up, but Craig came running down to see what was the matter). Using your poker chips to set up a racetrack for matchbox cars. Your dad taking me to Riverside Park with you. Thank you for the love and support. I feel sad. Much love to each of you--

So sorry for the personal loss to Mr. Badstuebner's family and friends. Mr. B came into my life 36 years ago as my teacher, and even then I knew that I had met a truly wonderful teacher and very warm person. I never forgot him, and I don't think anyone else will either. My sincere sympathy to Mrs. B, Wayne, and the rest of his family during this difficult time of loss and sadness.

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

Mr Badstubener was a teacher that helped me to become a better student and a better person. There has not been one Middle School Conversation that I have not talked fondly about him....
