George Carneiro Obituary
George J. Carneiro, 82, of Tolland, passed away June 10, 2024, after a long battle with kidney disease. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late Antonio and Maria Carneiro.
George was an U.S. Army veteran and a retired Hartford Fire Fighter. He was the founder and former owner of Casey's Cafe in Ellington, CT. George was an avid boater and fisherman, sharing wonderful boating memories with his many friends. He also loved time spent on his John Deere tractor.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, his son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Carolyn Carneiro, his granddaughter Alyssa and grandson Nicholas. He is also survived by his sister, Lydia Davis, and a niece, Meaghan Davis and her family.
A special thank you to his friend Steve Constantine and his dog Oliver for all their love and support.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Carneiro.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 17th from 10 am-12 pm at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, (Rt 83) Vernon, CT 06066. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. in Mount Saint Benedict Cemetery, 1 Cottage Grove Road, Bloomfield, CT, 06002.
