George Kasperan Obituary

George Kasperan Jr., 66, of Tolland, loving husband of 47 years to Theresa (Ulrich) Kasperan, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Rockville General Hospital.

Born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Hyland) Kasperan, he grew up in Vernon and lived in Enfield before moving to Tolland 26 years ago. He was a 1968 graduate of Rockville High School. Prior to his retirement, George owned and operated the former Performance Unlimited Speed Shop in Enfield for many years. He loved cars, racing, and NASCAR. George built and raced a dragster for many years, and he was very proud of his 1935 Chevy street rod. He was an avid bowler and was a member of the TNBA Bowling League.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his beloved children, Mark Kasperan and his wife, Jennifer, of Stafford Springs, and Lisa Boya and her husband, Patrick, of Vernon; four grandchildren, Madison Dion, Kasie Kasperan, and Alyssa and Patrick Boya; four sisters, Mary Mullen, of Vernon, Kathryn Linnell and her husband, Michael, of Enfield, Elizabeth Heim, of Enfield, and Ann Dulude and her husband, Robert, of Turnersville, New Jersey; three brothers-in-law, George Ulrich and his wife, Gloria, of Tolland, Thomas Ulrich and his wife, Kathleen, of Sun City Center, Florida, and Timothy Ulrich, of Tolland; and several nieces and nephews. George was also predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Robert Mullen and Robert Heim.

His family will receive friends for calling hours Tuesday, April 19, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon.

Family and friends may gather at the funeral home Wednesday, April 20, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville.
