Geraldine Bascom Obituary
Born on Feb. 9, 1927, in Windsor Locks, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Catherine (Drea) Cagnulari. Geraldine resided in Enfield for 26 years before moving to Florida and, subsequently, Tennessee. She was a secretary for the Enfield Board of Education for 14 years. In her free time she enjoyed the game of golf.
A loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great grandmother, Geraldine is survived by her loving children Jon A. Bascom and his wife, Catherine, of Cordova, Tenn., Robert E. Bascom Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Summerville, S.C., and Lynn B. Black and her husband, Barry, of Pepperell, Mass.; a sister, Marjorie Cooper of Windsor; a sister-in-law Betty LaChance and her husband, Joel, of Somers; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may gather on Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers, for a procession to All Saints Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in West Cemetery, Somers.
Her family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday Jan. 2, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main St., Somers.
Memorial donations in Geraldine's memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.

Want to express our condolences to Mrs. Bascom's family on her passing. We got to know her at Applingwood while our Mother was also a resident, until her passing in January, 2013. Always loved getting to see Mrs. Bascom and an her sweet, ALWAYS smiling face. God Bless.

Miss Gerry will be missed. She had the prettiest smile and always used it. I enjoyed speaking to her when I was at Applingwood to visit my Mother. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
