Irene M. DiMattia

1937 - 2022

Irene M. (Wolodko) DiMattia, 84, of Enfield, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife of 40 years to Gerald M. DiMattia.

Born on Oct. 21, 1937, to the late Edward and Agnes (Carenzo) Wolodko and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Enfield High School. Irene retired from Williams Engineering after 25 years of service as a bookkeeper. She will always be remembered for her loving and caring heart, kindness and generosity. Her great sense of humor and laugh lit up the room. She loved cooking and decorating for the holidays. Irene opened her heart and home to all and she will be dearly missed.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her loving daughter Andrea M. DiMattia of Enfield; two stepdaughters Patricia DiMattia Landis (Howard) of New Jersey, and Michele A. DiMattia of Enfield; her four cherished grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; her brother Joseph Wolodko and his wife, Linda of Enfield; a brother-in-law Paul Williams of Enfield; as well as nine nieces and nephews; and cousins. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter Donna M. Gabinski; a sister Elaine Williams; and a brother David Wolodko.

Friends may gather with family and relatives on Wednesday, Feb. 2, from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a prayer aervice at Browne Memorial Chapels, Enfield. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
