With great sadness, we share our beloved mother Jeanette "Gigi" Weseliza, 92, of Enfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025.
Born on August 23, 1933, in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Adelaide Vignone. Jeanne was raised in Hartford and made Enfield her home in 1960 when she married the love of her life, Maurice Weseliza.
After raising her two children through high school, Jeanne enjoyed a long and successful career with CIGNA, retiring in 1998. She was a communicant of St. Martha's Church. She was deeply involved in her community, particularly in local government, and was a proud nearly 50-year member of the Enfield Democratic Town Committee.
Jeanne found joy in cooking, knitting, crocheting, gardening, painting and drawing. She was very creative with crafts of all kinds and loved sharing them with friends. Above all else, she cherished time spent with her family, who were the center of her life. She enjoyed car rides, surprise visits and family dinners, holiday gatherings and family vacations.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Maurice Weseliza, and her siblings, Raffaela Mangene, Michael Veccherelli, Antionette Dentamaro, Martin Vignone, Mary Thomas, Frank Vignone, and Christine Orio, along with many nieces and nephews.
Jeanne is survived by her loving children, Vincent Weseliza and his significant other, Lauren Dignazio, of Enfield, and Karen Weseliza and her husband, Rich Aniolowski, of Enfield; she was a very special Gigi to her cherished grandchildren, Matthew and Marissa Aniolowski; and has a special niece, Gail-Ann Shuckerow and her husband, Kenneth.
Her family will receive friends on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield. Her funeral will begin on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a procession to St. Martha's Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Patrick King Street Cemetery, Enfield.
