Jeanne (Parent) Walsh, 85, of Ellington, and formerly of South Windsor, beloved wife of 66 years to Daniel R. Walsh, passed away peacefully on Friday, Oct. 8, 2021.

Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, the daughter of the late Alphonse and Anita (Salvas) Parent, she grew up in Hartford and lived in South Windsor for 40 years before moving to Ellington 20 years ago. She attended Hartford Public High School. She was an amazing, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who raised a close-knit family. She had an empathetic way that everyone found likeable and friendly. Jeanne was an avid tennis player, skier, and golfer. She enjoyed time with close friends going on monthly trips to casinos and a fun-filled Las Vegas trip. Jeanne and Dan enjoyed cruises and exploring many countries throughout the world. After retiring, Jeanne and Dan wintered at their home in Naples, Florida. She was a longtime communicant of St. Margaret Mary Church in South Windsor.

In addition to her husband, Jeanne is survived by her children, Lynn Nissen and her husband, James, of Willington, Michael Walsh and his companion, Donna Burke, of Putnam, Brenda Mason and her husband, Greg, of East Hartford, and Corinne Walsh and her fiancé, John Martin, of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Jessica Lajoie and her husband, Alec, Anita Richard, Sarah Lanzendorfer, Amanda Bartlett, Bryan Bartlett, Daniel Perodeau, and Cooper Perodeau; five great-grandchildren and two on the way; and several nieces, nephews, cousins; and her lifelong best friends, Carol and Paul Perodeau. She was also predeceased by her daughter Sheila Richard, and her three brothers.

Her family will receive friends for memorial calling hours on Sunday, Oct. 17, 2021, from 2 to 4 p.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m., at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road, South Windsor. Interment will be private and at the convenience of her family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer Organization.

I am so sorry to read about Jeanne´s passing. I remember her so well. A very sweet and lovely girl in high school. What a wonderful life she had with Dan. I remember him so well also. I send my sincerest condolences and will earnestly pray for her and all her family. God bless.
