Jessie Bristow, 89, of Manchester, daughter of the late William and Jessie (Graham) Bristow and sister of the late Thomas R. Bristow, passed away Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at a local nursing home.

Jessie was born in Manchester on Sept. 5, 1923, was a lifelong resident, and for the past 12 years had resided at The Arbors. Prior to retiring, she was an Administrator at U.T.C. in Hartford for 30 years. She was a lifelong member of South United Methodist Church, enjoyed knitting and also watching UConn Women's Basketball.

Jessie is survived by her loving family, two nieces, Susan Colton and her husband, Bruce, of Cincin-nati, Ohio, and Valerie Kazel and her husband, Ron, of Madison, N.J.; a nephew, David Bristow and his wife, Brenda, of Sugar Land, Texas; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Douglas and John Colton, William and Catherine Kazel and Elizabeth, W. Eric and Catherine Bristow.

Private burial will be in East Cemetery, Manchester.

There are no calling hours. Mem-orial contributions may be made to the Manchester Salvation Army, 661 Main St., Manchester, CT 06040. Holmes Funeral Home Manchester has care of arrangements.
