Jessie Dailey Obituary

Jessie M. Dailey, loving wife of the late Edward C. Dailey, died at Avery Heights in Hartford on Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, with her family by her side.

Jessie was born in Bridgeport, daughter of the late Alfred and Helen DeRose. She was raised in Bridgeport and later lived in Fairfield, South Windsor, and Manchester. Jessie worked for many years in the Fairfield school system and then at Fairfield University. While she loved to travel and play cards, the focus of Jessie's life was always her family.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Lynn Dailey of Long Boat Key, Fla., and Holland, Mass.; and her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and William Larensen of Vernon; seven grandchildren, Carrie, and her husband, Jim, of Hebron, Coreen, and her husband, Jamie, of Hebron, Pamela, and her husband, Mark, of Chatham, Mass., Kelly, and her husband, Glen, of Hebron, Kristine, and her husband, Jim, of Fairfield, Meghan of Glastonbury and Gregory, and his wife, Johanna, of Ellington; 22 great-grandchildren whom she adored: Kaitlyn, Kyle, Nathan, Joseph, Hannah, Devon, Nicole, Jacob, Madison, Brendan, Mark, Jessica, Joshua, Benjamin, Teagan, Peyton, Ryan, Andrew, Alexander, Will, Nicholas, and baby, Moira. She always managed to stay involved in the lives of all of them. She also leaves her brother-in-law, Dr. Robert Pitt; several nieces and nephews, and dearest friend of 86 years, Dorothy Sullivan. Jessie was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Robert DeRose, and his wife, RuthAnn, and by her sister,

My sincere sympathy on the loss of Jessie. I always looked forward each Christmas to her cards telling me all about her growing family. She was a wonderful neighbor and became a good friend as I became of age. She will be truly missed.
