John T. "Jack" Derwin
John T. "Jack" Derwin of Windsor Locks, Connecticut, passed away on November 16, 2025 surrounded by family. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, who lived a life defined by dedication, generosity, and service to the community he loved.
Jack led a life of public service having worked for many years as a Police Officer for the State of Connecticut before retiring in 1990. His service extended beyond his career through his many years as a volunteer for the Windsor Locks Fire Department, an EMT for the Windsor Locks Lions Club Ambulance, and the American Legion.
When not volunteering, Jack could be found on the greens playing golf, sharing his backyard pool with family and friends or walking his beloved St. Bernard, Tiny, throughout his neighborhood. Jack also treasured opportunities to travel, fulfilling a life-long dream to visit family in Ireland for the first time in 2011.
Those who knew Jack will remember him for his stories, his engaging personality and his readiness to lend a hand - no matter how big or small. His legacy lives on in the family who loved him deeply, the community he served, and the many lives he touched along the way.
Jack is survived by his wife of 57 years, Judy, their children, Colleen (Patrick) DePratti; Laura, and Kevin (Rebecca) and his five grandchildren: Sarah and Rachel DePratti, and Jamie, Tommy and Alice Derwin.
