John E. Porcello, Sr.
John E. Porcello, Sr., 78, of Enfield, beloved husband of the late Judith A. Porcello for 53 wonderful years, passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on December 7, 1946, in Springfield, MA, John was the son of the late Leo and Ruth (Provencal) Porcello. A lifelong resident of Enfield, John co-owned the Carquest / BWP Distributors for 48 years, where he formed countless cherished relationships with colleagues and customers alike. Family was the cornerstone of John's life. Together with Judy, his high school sweetheart, he built a legacy of love, raising five children and sharing a home filled with warmth and joy. He found his greatest joy in spending time with his family, especially his fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Whether hosting holiday gatherings at his home, sharing stories over meals, or watching his family grow, John's pride and devotion to his loved ones were evident in all he did.
John was a man of many passions. He loved spending time with his family and treasured the family trips to Disney World, each one creating unforgettable memories. He and Judy delighted in holiday traditions, from playing Santa with a twist that brought together generations of family and friends. His vibrant presence made every event special.
John is survived by his children: John Jr. and his wife Kristen of Enfield; Jeffery and his wife Cathy of Enfield; Jameson and his wife Jessica of Enfield; Jennifer Kilgore and her husband Larry of Ellington; and Julie Cosker and her husband Joseph Sr. of Somers. He leaves behind fourteen beloved grandchildren: Sean Patrick, John Edward III, Tyler Joseph, Haley Ann, Tyler Thomas, Jessica Nicole, Emily Grace, Jenna Lynn, Joey Timothy Jr., Cole Lawrence, Mia Rose, Andrew John, Isabella Marie, and Ella Grace; and his great-grandchildren, Lilah Rose, Olivia Judith, Liam Brock, John Edward IV.
