Joseph A. Gronda, 92, of Windsor Locks, CT, passed away on March 27, 2025, at Johnson Memorial Hospital. He was born on June 7, 1932, at home, in Windsor Locks, to Paul and Dominica (Costa) Gronda. Joseph grew up in Windsor Locks and graduated from Windsor Locks High School before joining the Army. After his honorable discharge, he earned two bachelor's degrees and pursued a career as an engineer in the aerospace industry at Pratt and Whitney until his retirement.
A devoted man of faith, Joseph was a founding member of Bethany Baptist Church in East Windsor and played a role in its construction. He met the love of his life, Ethel Fadden, and together they built a life in Windsor Locks, raising their family.
Joseph's family would like to thank the staff at Johnson Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care during his stay.
He is survived by his son, Steven Gronda of Feeding Hills, MA, and his grandson, Steven Gronda Jr. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Dominica Gronda; his beloved wife, Ethel (Fadden) Gronda; and his son, James Gronda.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at Bethany Baptist Church, 278 North Rd., Broad Brook, CT 06016, on Friday, April 4, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
