Joseph Zukauskas Obituary
Joseph S. Zukauskas, 86, of South Windsor, CT, beloved husband of the late Helen (Wiekrykas) Zukauskas, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 31. Born on July 16, 1938, in Pottsville, PA, he was the son of the late John and Mary Zukauskas.
Joseph married the love of his life, Helen, on April 16, 1966. They settled in South Windsor, CT where they raised their two beloved daughters. Joseph worked as an actuary for the Aetna Insurance Company until his retirement in 1997. His favorite retirement activities included enjoying more than a few rounds of golf, trips to Las Vegas and weekly casino runs with his wife. More recently, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune became his games of choice. Above all he always enjoyed getting visits from his family who were by far his proudest achievement in life.
Joseph leaves his daughters, Carolyn Mansfield and her husband Michael of South Windsor, and Pamela Butler and her husband Joseph of South Windsor and his sister, Georgine "Gidge" Mahall of Minersville, PA. He also leaves behind four dear grandchildren, Maxwell and Mikayla Mansfield and Jaimie and Haley Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 673 Ellington Rd., South Windsor. Burial will follow in Wapping Cemetery in South Windsor.
